New Apartment, New Furniture?

In just a little over a week, I will be moving out and into an apartment. Luckily I will be keeping my furniture set for my room but what about the other rooms in the house? Am I going to have to purchase new furniture? Not necessarily. As a current college graduate I definitely opted for a less expensive option…CRAIGSLIST.
Who ever thought of a site like this is pure genius. I am not going to lie, its bargain shopping but with a little patience you’re sure to find many surprises. For example, I wanted to create a type of bar area to entertain guests, but with new hutch and bar furniture easily ranging from $200-$600, I rethought that idea.
Luckily I found an idea in a home magazine suggesting purchasing a plain armoire and converting it to a bar. I have purchased an armoire for $40 on Craigslist. My plan is to add extra shelving and wine racks in order to make room for stemware and wine bottles along with other storage capacity. Painting the piece will also add some funk and life to this new bar. Once I have added those last minute personal touches, I’ll be set for my housewarming.
This is my weekend project. Wish me luck!
