Free Memorial Day Events in Houston

To kick off the beginning of summer, the Bounce Energy Blog lists some popular events going around Texas on Memorial Day weekend that involve food, music, and fun. Here are a list of other activities happening this weekend that won’t break that bank and keep the kids entertained.
1. There will be many families heading towards Galveston or Surfside Beach this weekend to spend the day in the sun. Along Galveston’s Surf Wall, is free access to the beach; other beaches like Crystal Beach or East Beach will charge an entry fee. There is an entry fee for Surfside but but it’s an annual fee. So for less than $10, you’ll get a sticker to put on your car so that you can go to Surfside all summer long.
2. We love Discovery Green for all the free events they have! To cool your kids off this weekend, Discovery Green has a waterpark where your little ones can run around in.
3. Come watch the “Dancin’ in the Street: Motown and More” revue at Miller Outdoor Theater this weekend at 8:15pm for free.
4. If there’s a lot of traffic around Hermann Park on Memorial Day, it’s because the Houston Zoo will be opening its doors to visitors for free! The Houston Zoo is a popular place on free days and it could get pretty hectic. Despite the big crowds, you’ll still have fun with the family and you can take advantage of the free price.
5. Cool off at any of the Houston city pools. They will all be open on Memorial Day Weekend.
