How to cut summer energy costs

If you’re looking into buying that new cover-up or bathing suit you just love, save on electricity and then use that money for your new suit! There are a few things that are important to keep in mind to be electricity wise during the summer.
- If you are able to reheat meals or even make meals with your microwave, go ahead a use it. Microwaves save 2/3 of the energy that you would use to cook up or heat a meal on the stove.
- Save water by using a fully loaded dishwasher. I just recently started using the dishwasher in my apartment. I love it because I don’t have to take time to wash those dishes every night plus it uses less water. In order for it to be cost efficient, make sure the dishwasher is fully loaded so you can use its full capacity and not waste water.
- Keep the lights off during the day, some of us don’t have so much sun throughout the rest of the year so definitely make it a point to let the sunlight in.
- Replace the air filters once a month. I just replaced my air filter and I do not know too many people that do so but the benefits make my wallet happy.
I got some of my information from the maintenance crew in my complex. They gave me some suggestions I had not thought of. So ask around your neighborhood to see what information you can gather to make this summer money saving one. Be sure to check out the Bounce Energy Blog for even more helpful energy efficiency tips.
