Fall 5k Fun Runs

By eliza, September 29, 2010, Family & Kids

Fall is an excellent time to take advantage of the great outdoors! The weather will become cooler and more pleasant. What more of a perfect time to put on those running shoes and start training for a 5K. Yes, a 5K. I have ran a couple 5K’s within the past 2 years and I have felt so great after each one. If I can do it, anyone can! What more could you ask for: free and healthy.

You can sign up for free at Active.com. This is one of many resources that can be used to find local races and health events. There are also many available sites that have designed beginner routines and training schedules for those that have never thought of participating in a race. The routines range from beginners to advanced running schedules.

If you are unsure whether or not you can really do this, try it out and give it a shot. There are also many other activities that can be found on the site. Engaging in some kind of exercise activity will come in helpful when those holiday parties start to line up.

Bounce Energy will have a team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Houston. This is an exciting event that raises breast cancer awareness. Bounce Energy employees will be running the 5k along with the Bounce Energy CEO. Everyone is invited to come out and please support the Bounce Energy team!
