Five Green Items for Less

As you may have noticed, going green sometimes means spending more green.  However, sometimes (depending on the item) it can help you save money down the road.   Here are some cool, eco-friendly products that are good for the environment and on your wallet.

  • EcoPods.  Our clothes washer has definitely seen some better days. At times it starts shaking so much it actually starts walking, it’s crazy.  That is why we need EcoPods. These anti-vibration pads are made from recycled tires and are designed to reduce sound, vibrations and pulsating of heavy equipment such as clothes washers and dryers.  In addition, these little shock absorbers can cut repair costs caused by wear and tear and are energy efficient.
  • Mohawk greenworks.  Mohawk is committed to finding innovative ways to better their products and processes while benefiting the environment.  In doing so, they have created a way to use recycled plastic soda bottles to produce a line of carpeting that is not only eco-friendly, but amazingly enough, stain proof.
  • Sensor Plug. Do you ever get tired of hearing “last person up turns the light/TV off?” In our household it is an ongoing battle. That is what makes the Sensor Plug such a great idea.  It saves electricity as it automatically turns off electronic devices when no motion is detected for up to 2-6 minutes (depending on your desired setting).   It also acts like a motion sensor and will automatically turn on your lights or appliances once triggered when you walk past.  With it’s easy installation of just plugging into a wall outlet with no wiring needed, it could be a problem solver for your family.
  • Nature’s Legacy uses natural scrap materials like dead barks, shrubs, twigs and leaves to produce earthy yet fashionable hand crafted products. They carry multiple products ranging from fashion accessories and footwear to indoor and outdoor home décor.
  • PowerGorilla Portable Laptop Charger.  Sick of running out of battery on your laptop? Here’s the answer, the PowerGorilla Portable Laptop Charger. This charger will keep your devices powered for hours (via solar power, wall adapter or USB port) and is compatible with many devices, not to mention it can charge multiple devices at the same time.
