A Broken Dryer is a Blessing in Disguise

Last week I was at my mom’s house and she told me that the dryer was broken. Right away, I felt the pain. How annoying for the dryer to be broken! My brother walked into the kitchen saying the same thing and my mom responded by saying, “we can always hang the clothes for them to dry.” Eureka! Ok so maybe the dryer is broken but you are saving money by not using it and your clothes will still dry.

Find out the rate of the dryer you use and calculate how much just that usage comes out to annually. I know that when we did that at my mom’s house, she would have saved almost $200 each year by not having used the dryer and just dried the clothes on a line. There are so many handy and nifty tools that allow for this “line drying” to be just as good for drying clothes. Try it out for a week and see if this is one kind of savings you can practice.
