Save Money Without Skimping On Your Party for the Big Game

With Super Bowl Sunday in our midst, many of you may be thinking of hosting a party, but might be afraid of the cost.  So before you break the bank, check out these simple tips to help save some money without skimping on the fun.

  • Tip #1. Forget about the gourmet appetizers and use simple snacks. Ditch the caviar and lobster rolls and replace it with cheaper yet tasty items like chips, queso, peanuts, veggie trays (make them yourself), etc. You can even ask your guests to each bring an appetizers or a dessert to help keep costs down.
  • Tip #2. Scrap the decorations. People are coming for the game, funny commercials and to be with friends NOT for the decorations. So instead of worrying about buying decorations concentrate on providing plenty of food and seating.
  • Tip #3. Offer one or two types of beverages. If you’re thinking you should provide drinks to accommodate everyone, you’re thinking wrong. Don’t drive yourself crazy or break your budget, scale it down to one or two types of beverages (ie. wine and beer, two types of beer, etc.). Tell people ahead of time what you’re providing and give them the option to bring something else they’d like to drink.
