Texas Festivals in May

HereĀ  are some fun and free events going on in the month of May in Texas:

  • Cottonwood Art Festival – This year the festival will be taking place from May 7 to 8, in Richardson, TX. The event offers live music as well as great displays of artwork from over 200 artists from the US, England, and Canada. Admission is free as well as parking.
  • Pasadena Strawberry Festival – This event will be taking place May 20-22 in the Pasadena Convention Center. The event offers a variety of things to do like, BBQ cookoff, strawberry eating contests, strawberry cooking, bingo, live music, etc. The festival attracts 45,000 visitors and was originally held to observe San Jacinto Day but has turned into a fundraising event for local scholarships and community activities.
  • Dallas Artfest – Held in Dallas over Memorial Day weekend for the past 3 decades is the Dallas Artfest. The event features live music, great artwork from across the country, and activities for children. Local artists and donations raise $30,000 to support the Artfest throughout the year.

Whether you can make to one or all of these events, you can assure yourself that it will be loads of fun as well as helping out the community.
