Planning ahead before shopping could save you a lot of money. Impulse shopping trips may make you feel better at first but when you look at your credit card statement you may feel shopping remorse. With a little planning ahead you can make guilt free purchases and become a smarter shopper. Buying clothes and other items when they are not in season is a great way to plan ahead and buy great products without breaking the bank. There is a smart time to buy a lot of different items from clothes, appliances, Christmas supplies, etc.
This method of saving money might require you to wait to buy your special purchase but remember that you will be receiving huge discounts.
You can save a great deal on your summer clothes during January and February. In January you can purchase items such as shorts, dress shirts and T-shirts at a discounted prices and in February suits and skirts are often on sale. In this Texas heat you might think someone was crazy if you saw them purchasing winter clothes such as coats and sweaters during the summer months but when you realize how much money they are saving it might make you rethink how you shop. Winter clothes are sometimes pretty expensive so buying them out of season can save you a ton of money. Coats start going on sale in the month of March. Coats can get pretty expensive so if you are in need of a winter coat keep your eyes peeled in March for some great discounts. Sweaters are cheapest during the summer months; especially in the month of July Last summer I purchased a sweater during the summer months for as little as $5. While I had to wait a couple months to wear it, I was able to wear it during the winter months knowing that got such a great deal. Swimwear starts going on sale during October, not only does this allow you to get your body beach ready it also allows you to save money. The best days to buy clothes during the week is Thursday evenings, 6-8 weeks after an item arrives in stores.
Christmas decorations, cards, and wrapping paper starts going on sale in January. So when the business of Christmas is over go stock up on the Christmas necessities for a much cheaper price-tag. The same holds true for other holidays as well. Holiday decorations and seasonal goodies will go on sale when that holiday has passed. After Easter has come and gone you can purchase your favorite Easter candies at a lower cost and your patio furniture, picnic supplies etc will usually go on sale after the labor Day weekend.
The best time to buy appliances is generally during holiday weekends. Appliances go on sale throughout the year but the best sales are usually during the holidays. You may have to compete with a large amount of other bargain shoppers during the holiday weekend but the huge savings will be worth the crowds and the wait.
Saving money does not have to be hard. With a little information on the best time to receive deals and some planning ahead you can save a lot of money without sacrificing your favorite purchases.
