Best Inexpensive Christmas Gifts for Her

By julianne, December 15, 2011, Shopping Tips

Do you ever see those commercials where it’s Christmas time and the guy goes through some elaborate scheme to get his wife to look out the window and see the brand new car he got her with bow on top? Now that guy probably doesn’t exist, and if he does, he’s not me. Not that I don’t like to give wonderful gifts; I just know that if I spend a fortune on something frivolous for my wife, that’s her money too, so she’s probably not going to be too happy about it. With that in mind, I always keep an eye out for nice gifts that I can get for $25 or less. Here are 10 ideas that jumped out at me this year.

It’s always great when you can give a gift to a woman you care about and help the planet you care about at the same time. With that in mind, the Gym Glass Carafe is a great gift for someone who likes to keep hydrated without polluting the environment. This elegant-looking glass sports bottle is available at gifts.com for $16.99.

For the woman in your life who cannot be without her electronic devices, there is a cool device that can keep them all charged without having a bunch of cords strewn throughout the house or apartment. It’s called the Shift3 Executive Charging Station With Surge Protector and it’s available at Overstock.com for $22.99. This device has five charging stations and a handy drawer to help organize all of your small electronic devices. It can charge cell phones, cameras, music players, gaming devices and more.

You just can’t go wrong with chocolate, and you can’t go wrong with the $19.95 price tag on the Saxon Chocolates Signature Collection Fondue Set with Belgian Chocolate from HSN. It comes with a stand, a tea light, a ceramic bowl, two fondue forks and some rich, dark chocolate.

If the woman you’re buying for is a coffee or tea drinker, mugs are always a nice idea. The West Elm Charity Mugs are $10 each, but 50 percent of that cost goes to support one of seven different charities of your choice (including charities like the ASPCA and St. Judes Children’s Hospital). The mugs are adorned with artwork representing the charity of choice and they are dishwasher safe.

Since we’re feeling charitable, another gift that would benefit a charity as well as the gift recipient would be the Breast Cancer Flip Flops from Eye Candy Gifts. This snazzy summer footwear features an embroidered pink ribbon and a rhinestone jewel. A portion of the $21.97 price gets donated to the fight against breast cancer.

If you don’t know what kind of jewelry to buy, a jewelry box is sometimes a safe bet. Overstock.com’s Flower Pattern Silver Jewelry Box is priced right at $18.49 and it features a black velvet lining. It can be engraved, as well.

Do you know a woman who loves plants but is wanted for herbicide in fourteen states? ProFlowers “virtually un-killable” Succulent Garden may be the gift for her. For the low price of $24.99, you can give her a terra cotta pot filled with beautiful, unique and low-maintenance succulent plants.

For a quirky gift that will bring hours of fun, you might want to try Amazon.com’s Awkward Family Photos Board Game. This hilarious game is based on a concept just about anyone can get in line with–making fun of bad family photos. You can pick up a copy for $24.99.

It’s never a bad idea to give the gift of warmth. The L.L. Bean Wicked Warm Plush Throw is big, soft, cuddly and comes in a variety of colors. $24.50 is a small price to pay for the comfort that this throw can bring on a cold night.

Finally, when all else fails, there’s the gift card. Once frowned upon as a cop-out gift, nowadays the gift card is an eagerly-anticipated part of just about every holiday (we all get one from somebody, don’t we?). With a gift card, you can go out and actually buy what you want. A website like Gift Card Mall has a big enough selection that you’re bound to find a card that is appropriate for the woman on your gift list.

There you have it–10 ideas for gifts under $25. These suggestions will hopefully put you on the path to finding the right gift in your price range, so that you can be frugal without being Scrooge.
